pumpkin patch

There are so many pumpkin patches where we live that I've decided to try a different one every year.

This year we went to Hodges Farm and it did not dissapoint!

Trace got to play with hay, look at farm animals and ride in a wagon to pick out a pumpkin.

It was a family fun afternoon and Trace loved every minute of it!

I'd like to introduce you to the other person who has been excitedly consuming my every waking thought and action since early August...

I mean, doesn't Trace just look so lonely on this bench?

He won't be lonely for long, as he'll have a built-in very best friend and playmate for life!
That's right, baby BOY #2 will be making HIS debut in early APRIL!

My boys will be about 21.5 months apart.
I'm in love and obsessed with the notion already.... MY BOYS........!!!
... aaaaand my heart just exploded......

bbq & game night shenanigans

 I remember the date clearly - August 8, 2014 - The day before everything changed...

Bryan and I kicked off our Friday night having friends over for a summer BBQ.

You know you have great friends when you put out paper plates and plastic silverware and they rip you apart for being too "classy." Haha!

Fancy dishes are overrated when you don't want to deal with the hassle of dishes. 

Am I right or am I right?

Anyhow, our fun dinner conversation transitioned into an awesome game night.

We ate a ton of food, drank a lot of alcohol and had a million laughs.

This kind of night is my favorite - low-key, casual, good times!

knights game

Back in early August Ashton and Eric came into town and invited us to go to a Knights game. They had box seat tickets, so although the company was questionable, we clearly couldn't turn down box seats ;) We got ourselves a babysitter, threw back some beers and just had the best night with this awesome couple!

I now wake up each morning WIDE awake! 
No sleepy eyes, sluggish body or coffee for this chick. 
I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I've officially given up coffee and it feel so good to not lean on caffeine as a crutch anymore!! 
NATURAL ENERGY is a whole new thing for me, haha, and simply put, it's the shit!

camera timer fail & a day at the lake

Am I the only one who is forced to resort to a timer when trying to take a family photo?

Well sometimes it goes really well!

And other times it ends up like this...

Moving onto the cutest little boy and his doggy at the park across from our neighborhood... so cute!

Trace might have been born in the south, but this kid is SoCal through and through!

summer travel

My summer was SO incredibly busy!

I've never really shared this in this space, but I work (contracted) about 40 days a year.

And every single one of those 40ish days is spent out of town, traveling on behalf of my company.

I go to special events - air shows, concerts, sporting events, mud run type of events, etc.

These events take place during the warmer months - mostly summer - and require Friday-Sunday travel.

I feel so blessed to be a SAHM 325 days of the year!

I'm just so thankful to be able to fulfill my passion for travel and desire to earn income the other days!!

I'm beyond grateful for the flexibility of my job and for an incredible boss who just "gets" it.

With that being said, I spent many of my summer weekends out of town and enjoyed every minute of it!
