Clothes: There are a fiew 6-9 month shirts that I can still put you in, but that's only because they're a really long cut -- generally all h&m clothing. And because you're so thin you wear 9 month shorts. Other than that you're in all 9-12 and 12 month clothes -- jammies, pants, shorts, sweaters and onesies (you hardly wear any onesies anymore... I'm over them). You're in size 3 shoes and you have about 10 pairs. I'm obsessed with baby boy shoes and tend to find your cutest ones at TJMaxx. You're still in size 3 diapers, but you've advanced from Swaddlers to Cruisers.
Sleep: Our evening goes like this ---- If we are out, we have to be home by 6:00pm. You insist on this and will cry if you're not in your comfort zone (home) by this time of night. You get a bath every other night and if it's bath night, we bathe you at around 6:15pm. We rock you in your dark room and give you your bottle at 6:30/6:40pm. After your bottle you usually get a burst of energy and play/bounce/smile/laugh on my lap for a minute or two before crashing hard. You are so tuckered out by the end of the day and are fast asleep, in your crib, sometime between 6:45pm and 7:00pm. You have started to wake up a little earlier than you have in the past and I think it's primarily because you've started to wake up with poop in your diaper, which is a new thing for you, and I'm sure very uncomfortable. You wake sometime between 6:30am and 7:00am and play in your crib until I realize that you're awake -- you don't make a peep, so often times I'm sleeping and don't know when you get up. Your dad or I get you out of your crib by 7/7:15am at the latest. Your nap times are 9:00-11:00am and 1:30-2:30pm. Your first nap is always your longest and lately you've been really fighting your 2nd nap and play/whine in your crib until you fall asleep. Your crib has been lowered twice and is now down as low as it can go. You love to stand up, hold onto the rail and walk around on your mattress.
Diet: Biggy boy! You get 2 bottles/day and 2 sippy cups/day now. You're on Similac Sensitive (Sams Club brand). You take 1 6 oz. bottle at 7:15am and 1 8 oz. bottle as your last bottle at 6:30/6:40pm. You eat breakfast (rice or oatmeal cereal with homemade apple sauce mixed in or eggs, turkey, toast or blueberry pancake with Morningstar sausage) at 8:00am. You are officially done with baby food and have been for several weeks now. You eat lunch at 12:00pm and dinner at around 5:00pm. Your meals consist of whatever we are eating or whatever I have in the refrigerator. You love fish (tuna, salmon, tilapia, sea bass), chicken, red meat, pork, cooked sushi (including seaweed), pasta (red sauce, oil, pasta salad), black olives, avocado, pickles, carrots, green beans, peas, cucumber, edamame, peaches, kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, hummus, rice cakes, cheese (american, white american, sharp cheddar), sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, etc. You take a sippy cup filled with 3-4 oz. of formula at 11:00am and 3:00pm. We also regularly give you snacks of Puffs, Cheerios and yogurt melts -- you've completely mastered the art of hand to mouth aka feeding yourself. You love your baby yogurt too!
Baby Gear Love: Toys toys toys, Joovy walking/running stroller, Fisher Price space saver, Aden + Anais lovie, Itzy Ritzy shopping cart cover, swing sets, rocking green frog, books, blocks, firetruck, Cozy Coupe, wagon
Crying: You are starting to cry more and more and I know it's because you've realized that it's your only/main way to communicate your wants and needs. You mainly cry or whine when you want dad or I and when you fall while exploring. You've also begun to cry when you're around some people, which I hope is a short lived phase because it's not very nice. When you cry it only lasts until Dad or I remedy the situation, which usually takes just a few seconds. And by remedy, I mean "pick you up" -- you sure do love to be held!
Milestones: You now have 5 teeth, with the 6th tooth ready to break through the skin any day now. Your 5th tooth is the top right tooth next to your front tooth. You love to walk around the couches and anything else, including Dad and I. You are speed racer in the crawling department, have climbed the whole way up the stairs and love opening drawers and cabinets. You are a curious one and always seem to be on the move. I'm loving this phase! You've gotten so good at walking and have let go and stood a time or two, before quickly landing on your tiny bum. You definitely say Dada and Baba alllll the time, and although we don't know what Baba means it's super cute. Daddy loves hearing Dada come out of your mouth and I'm still waiting to hear Mama :)
Dear Trace,
April 26th, 2013 was my baby shower and this April 26th you turned 10 months old. How did this past year go by so fast? The fact that you're now 10 months old just blows my mind! You are the most happy baby I've ever laid eyes on and I praise Jesus on a daily basis that He chose me to be your mommy. We have always had so much fun dancing around the house, but now that you're older you've started to dance on your on. "Happy" by Pharrel is your song. I turn it on at least once a day. When you hear those initial first few beats you turn your head, look me in my eye and smile so wide and so big... because you're happy. Almost simultaneously you start bouncing up and down dancing. It's the cutest thing! And just as cute? Um you when you hear "Happy" in a store or restaurant. You get so excited and start bouncing in your shopping cart or high chair. Watching you so happy makes Dad and I so incredibly happy. I promise you that we will do everything in our power not to not screw you up, haha! We pray that you're always as happy as you are right now in life... and I envision us dancing to Pharrel's song at your wedding one day!
