Last week we piled into our friends Suburban and drove 45 minutes out to the most incredible festival of lights I'd ever seen. Trace and his friend were so cute, strapped into their car seats side-by-side. You have to turn off your headlights as you slowly creep along the windy road... looking right, looking left... at all of the different light displays, of which were absolutely outstanding! We stopped in the festive country store at the halfway point and grabbed some hot apple cider and popcorn. All in all it took us about 1.5 hours to drive through this Christmas light extravaganza. We were in awe the entire time and will definitely be making this trek out to Tanglewood Park an annual tradition.
We never -- literally, never -- take Trace out at night. This was a first for him and he was a complete angel. So curious and quiet the majority of the time. I'm incredibly proud to be this boys mom! He's nearly 6 months old and his eyes are a deep blue with the most precious gold specks *swoon* Think they'll stay blue? (Bryan and I both have hazel eyes)
Tanglewood is definitely an amazing tradition to start! We love that place so much! My in-laws live next door to the park and we originally planned our entire (November) wedding there! Months later when we went to visit it on the date we booked and realized we weren't ready to have christmas decorations all over our fall wedding. oops! Still holds a special place in our hearts though. So glad Trace got to experience it!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I remember doing something like this as a kid and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.
ReplyDeletehave never heard of this! Similar to McAdenville?
ReplyDeleteI obviously don't have kids, but I thought babies eyes changed color before 6 months. I think if they are blue now they will stay, but again I could be wrong!
ReplyDeleteLove light festivals! We had a tradition growing up to go to the one in Charleston, still one of my favorite Christmas activities every year! This years we're going to see the lights in Riverside (?) I think that's where...!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tradition! We love going to see lights.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to go back to Tanglewood! Haven't been since I was little! Such a pretty place!
ReplyDeleteBetter than the Speedway Lights? Hmm.. we want to do this too but am worried about having shelby out after her bedtime :(
