It's truly hard to believe that I'm 36 weeks 5 days pregnant today and have potentially less than 1 month til we meet our little guy! My doctor told me last wceek that he is head down and has dropped into place. We'll see how long we have to play the waiting game or if our little boy will make his debut nice and early... for now we've slipped on our patience pants and are trying to get every last minute thing done. I texted my mom a few days ago saying that "it feels like crunch time" and she wrote me back saying "it IS crunch time"... and oh man, she's so right!
Gender: A mama's boy!
Movement: I have been able to figure out what makes our little guy move the most... and that is FOOD! When he wakes up and moves around, if I just have a little snack it'll put him right back to sleep. And it works the other way also... when I eat, it'll wake him up for a few minutes, he'll move around a bit and then fall right back to sleep. He doesn't move often anymore -- he's just running out of room -- but when he does move, his movements are large and fluid. It's as if I have a person inside me ;) Now I feel his legs and arms stretching and jolting me. It's a very bizarre feeling to feel actual limbs move inside you...
Feeling: I'm feeling pretty tired lately and because of it I really have to plan my days out in advance -- If I'm active throughout the day, I have to take it easy at night and go to bed early. But if I take it easy throughout the day then I'm good to go at night. Elevating my feet throughout the day has become so important. And on days that I push myself too hard I feel it bigtime... my feet kill/are swollen, the bottom of my belly feels like it's going to split open, I moan and groan as I move or sit down and I literally can't keep my eyes open past 9:00pm.
Food Cravings: No cravings
Food Aversions: v8, salmon, soup
Clothes: Nothing much has changed in the clothes department -- I'm still wearing a mix of maternity and non-maternity clothes
Stretch Marks: None
Stretch Marks: None
Sleep: Sleep is really good! I don't have any aches and pains while sleeping, all of my body pillows are out of the bed and I've become used to waking up once or twice to pee throughout the night and am fortunate to I fall back to asleep right away.
Symptoms: nerve pain down the right side of my back and into my right my thigh, sharp shooting pains into my who-ha that take my breath away and bring me to my knees, frequent urination, low energy, faint linea nigra, slight pregnancy mask on forehead (my skintone is so uneven), slight tailbone pain, heartburn, carrying on the right/lopsided, hand and feet swelling... my wedding ring is officially off (I still don't think I've experienced round ligament pain, leg cramps or braxton hicks... is this normal?)

What I Miss: having high energy, being able to stay up late, moving without moaning and groaning, not experiencing stiffness
Best Moment: Being told that our baby has dropped into place!
Memorable Moments:
34w5d - Wedding Ring - is off. I had to take it off on our anniversary. Ironic how 3 years prior Bryan was slipping them on my finger for the 1st time...
35w1d - Work - I'm officially done with work for a long while!
35w3d - Baby Preperation - we cleaned out 2 drawers in the kitchen for baby gear, the car seat base is installed, mirror and baby name banner is hung in the nursery and started packing my hospital bag
35w4d - Maternity Pre-Registration - I'm officially registered at the hospital
35w4d - Appointment - Baby's heart rate flucuated between 147-151bpm. My blood pressure and proteins are great. I asked to be checked and was told that he's dropped into place but that I'm not dilated. My ob told me she could be seeing me in the hosital within the week or in a month...
wow you look great! I wouldn't think you were so far along! I'm glad you are sleeping well, but it sounds like the symptoms are getting rough, but at least you are almost done!

You look so great!
ReplyDeleteI've heard it's normal for some women to not feel any braxton hicks contractions. Apparently they start happening very early on in pregnancy but some people feel them and some don't. Consider yourself lucky! They can be brutal!! :)
Looking great, momma!!! Get excited! (I know you already are!)
