it's a.............. gender reveal!

Last week I asked you what you think I'm having -- An overwhelming amount of you said girl, whereas only about a handful of you guessed boy. Bryan and I found all of your answers to be SO interesting, so thank you for taking the time to weigh in!

The morning of Sunday, January 13th was a life changing one. Not only was it Bryan's birthday, but it was the day that we had been waiting for... the day that were were going to find out the sex of our baby!

That past Thursday and Friday I had had 2 ultrasounds, both of which confirmed the baby's gender. Knowing that we were waiting until Sunday to find out, I enlisted a friend of mine to do the honors of keeping the results far away from us. I had given her plenty of pink and blue onsies, socks, pins that said "it's a boy" and "it's a girl", a package of tinsel as well as gender neutral wrapping paper for her to create the ultimate "birthday present" for Bryan to open the morning of his birthday. She added the adorable bow and letters. And YES!! This was the best birthday present Bryan will ever receive! Cali, on the other hand, was less than thrilled...

 We sat there, staring at the wrapped box and the "2nd opinion" manila envelope, taking in the last moments of the unknown. Knowing that our life was forever about to change for the better...

Bry and I shared an incredibly emotional moment that I'll cherish forever on this memorable birthday morning of his. I have always pictured myself to be a mother of boys, so this was just the best news ever... for both of us!

The rest of the day was filled with sharing the news with our friends and parents, mine of which were visiting us at the time, and celebrating this wonderful day that I was given my boys... Bryan and my son.

Every second that we were able to sneak in some alone time together we would just smile ear-to-ear and say "we did it." We got our boy. We did it. We're going to watch him get dirty, yank on Cali's tail, turn our house upside-down, build forts, play sports and explore the world.... We did it!

It would be a completely accurate statement to say that this was the best birthday of Bryan's life! Not only did he get a son, but he got a wife -- After 32 months of marriage, for family unity, I finally legally changed my last name to his.

And this my friends, is just another day in this journey to parenthood that goes down in the books as the absolute best!... It's a boy!
