dining room and living room: summer decor

I have tried to come up with clever words to describe my decorating style, but I keep coming back to the fact that the theme of every room in my house is so cliche... "I bring the outdoors in." 

Whether it's my family room and kitchen, both of which are decorated more "countryside" or my bedroom, bathroom, dining room and living, all of which are decorated "beachy." And every room in my house is more rustic than refined. I just love incorporating nature and the outdoors into every room. 

As the seasons change, so does the decor in my dining and living rooms. Below is my take on not only summer, but my attempt at transforming my southern home into southern California bliss!

The palm tree in the living room is real, will withstand every season, loves shaded rooms and was bought at Walmart for $12.48. I love it and can't wait for it to get taller. It's my year-round touch of California!
